2-29-12 I am angry. The Kuran is a Holy book to Muslims, just as the Bible is the Holy book to Christians. If I killed someone over burning Bibles, I don’t think Mr Obama would apologize to me. Yet, the President of our country expressed his sympathy to Muslims in Afghanistan after they reacted to book burning by killing two American citizens. Who does this man work for anyway? Are we kidding ourselves? Islam is not a peaceful religion. They believe murder is justified if their religious book is defiled. But in our “christian” nation, public displays of The Ten Commandments are probhibited.
How would the Republican candidates have handled this situation?

I realize he may have been trying to defuse an unfortunate situation. However, this is simply another example of someone in over his head who was clearly not ready for the office he holds and making “another” error of judgment. America cannot withstand any more of this incompetence.
OR
He is intentionally trying to divide and incite Americans to anarchy.

I hope it is the former and fear it is the latter.

What do you think President Obama should have done?

Reply

I think most Americans & especially soldiers know the Afghan government is extension of their religion & we understand that the Kuran is holy to them. Does Obama think the kuran was burned in
error or deliberately? Before apologizing, the President could have publicly recognized that it is an unfortunate incident & we understand why it upsets Afghan people. Our government will investigate the details but he cannot condone murdering random Americans in retaliation for actions that may have been unintentional. After a review, if it is clear that we wronged them, then apologize with assurance it will be dealt with. Show some support for his own country & emphasize if the murdering of Americans continues, it will be viewed as hostility & will be met with military force. It’s like having a father who believes the worst about his own kids so he does not stand up for them. Our soldiers deserve the benefit of the doubt from our President. I know it is a fragile predicament we are involved in with Afghan but myself, as an American, I’m tired of our representatives apologizing to every other country for being America. And that’s how this whole thing makes me feel.

Thank you for taking the time to comment and share your views. We just hope that the killing stops and stability can be brought to that region of the world. Life is too short to be fighting and killing each other of differences of opinion on things like religion. May there be peace on earth.

I voted for Obama and may again.
If you were to nominate a Romney/Paul ticket, you would have a formidable force!

Reply

RCHQ Admin March 6, 2012 at 11:00 am

What reasons do you plan to vote for Obama? If Romney/Paul was the on the ticket would you consider voting for them?

Reply

Juidth March 6, 2012 at 1:22 pm

To Mark: has Obama been the president you hoped he would when you voted for him? My father used to say “better the devil you know”. We know what to expect from Obama by what he has done in his first term. Do we want more of the same? I don’t blame only Obama, but, he said “we need to reach across the aisle” to resolve bi-partison squabbles. But how could he enforce something he didn’t do himself?
RCHQ: I like Ron Paul he is not swayed from his stand easily, no matter how controversial. I like Santorum he seems the most sincere. I like Gingrich he has the most experience. I like Romney he knows economics & private job creation. Combine the four of them. If Romney/Paul is the ticket, I’ll vote for them, but, no one candidate has my full support. Just don’t want Obama.

I also think Rick Perry and John Huntsman withdrew to soon. I liked Huntsman’s experience with international matters. I hate that our political system has become who has the most money to run. You know President is the highest civil servant position in the land. Congress, Senate all members are our civil servants. So why do the citizens feel so badly mis-represented? And why do they get more pay & benefits than those they serve? It is a sad turnabout in our process. Are there any humble servants of the people in Washington, DC?

I am a registered republican, why I do not know. I am from a working class family, my husband worked all of his life till he had a heart attack. Not one of the canditates mentions the working people and those of us who can work any more. Their is no way that I would vote democrat, even if they paid me. Why can’t the republican party get a candidate that is running for the people, not just the rich or well to do?
I have said for the last few years that we are going to get into a depression worst than when our parents were around. And according to what I have read it is just around the corner. I will vote for Santorum but none of the other candidates. If things do not change I may not vote at all.

I support RON PAUL even though the party does not! Stop cheating and run a honest race or it will be a sad Obama second term to violate the constitution even more! I demand Ron Paul be on the ticket for my vote!
